AMC has renewed "Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire" for a fourth season, with the upcoming installment set to adapt the novel "The Queen of the Damned." The announcement was made during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con International.
The series, which rebranded for its third season as "The Vampire Lestat" to follow the second novel in Rice's vampire chronicles, will continue its adaptation of the literary series. The shift in focus for Season 3 moved the narration from Louis de Pointe du Lac to Lestat de Lioncourt, exploring Lestat's life from mortality to his rise as a rock star.
The season finale concluded with Lestat's actions potentially awakening Akasha, the queen of all vampires, setting the stage for the events of "The Queen of the Damned." This novel introduces a powerful antagonist who seeks global domination, posing a significant threat to both the vampire world and humanity.
Hannah Moskovitch will serve as the showrunner and executive producer for the "Queen of the Damned" season. Moskovitch previously worked as a writer for the first two seasons of "Interview with the Vampire" and as an executive producer for "The Vampire Lestat." She is also known for her work on the play "Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes" and the Crave TV miniseries "Little Bird."
No official premiere date has been set for the fourth season. Episodes of "The Vampire Lestat," also known as "Interview With the Vampire," are currently available for streaming on AMC+.
