Anne Hathaway's recent appearance at the "End of Oak Street" premiere has ignited a new wave of interest in nail trends, with her "coconut jelly gloss" manicure capturing widespread attention. The minimalist look, created by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik, utilizes Essie Nail Art Studio Jelly Gloss Polish in the shade Arctic Jelly, priced at $10.
Bachik described the manicure as a "coconut jelly gloss mani" on Instagram, a post that quickly led to numerous media mentions and sparked discussion about its potential to become the next major nail trend. The $10 Essie polish offers a buildable color that can be worn alone or layered for a "juicy, coconut milk-esque look," according to the product description. For Hathaway's premiere look, Bachik applied a single coat of the icy white shade after prepping the nails.
This is not the first time Hathaway has opted for Essie polishes. Earlier in the summer, she wore the brand's Gel Couture Polish in Sheer Fantasy for a press junket and the Fairy Taylor shade, layered with Mademoiselle, for the New York City premiere of "The Odyssey."
The trend also appears to extend to Hathaway's co-stars. Emily Blunt, who starred with Hathaway in "The Devil Wears Prada 2," also uses Essie products. Her manicurist, Julie Kandalec, reportedly used multiple Essie shades, including the dark brown Always Morphing, for the "Devil Wears Prada" sequel.
Bachik, known for his work with celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, has a history of setting trends in Hollywood. The "coconut jelly gloss" manicure is poised to be a significant beauty trend for August.
