Actress Anne Hathaway has confirmed that her recent pregnancy, which she described as a "buzzer beater," was intentionally planned with her husband, Adam Shulman. Hathaway, 43, expressed her astonishment during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, stating, "We knew what we were doing, but we were so shocked it worked!" Momentarily showing off her baby bump during promotional tours for the upcoming film "The Odyssey," Hathaway acknowledged the surprise her pregnancy announcement caused, particularly given her age. She and Shulman, married since 2012, are already parents to two sons, Jonathan, 10, and Jack, six.

Hathaway previously announced her pregnancy via an Instagram video featuring her cradling her growing belly, set to Barbara Lewis's song "Baby, I'm Yours." She had previously spoken about her gratitude for motherhood in April, telling People magazine, "I know that not everybody who wants to be a parent gets to be. I’m just blown away by how fortunate I am. It went really well for me twice, and that’s really lucky."

She also praised her husband's support, calling him a "dream partner." "I hope that doesn’t sound like I’m bragging, but he’s a dream partner to me," Hathaway said. "If I didn’t know that before this past year, I think I really know it now because with absolutely everything he’s just, he’s on it. He holds it down."

Professionally, Hathaway has had a notable year, including the release of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" in May, which reunited her with original cast members. She is also anticipating the release of Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" on Friday. The film has already garnered positive reviews from critics.

"The Odyssey" has faced some public discussion regarding casting choices, including the involvement of Black performers Lupita Nyong'o, Zendaya, and Travis Scott. Scott's role as the bard, in particular, drew criticism as stunt casting, given his background as a rapper. Elliot Page is also in the cast, playing Elpenor. The film, which premiered in London, is scheduled for a July 17 theatrical release in the U.S. and U.K. The highly anticipated movie features a star-studded cast, with Matt Damon as Odysseus, Holland as Telemachus, Zendaya as Athena, and Robert Pattinson as Antinous.
