Anne Hathaway has confirmed that her recent pregnancy, which she described as a "buzzer beater," was planned with her husband, Adam Shulman. The 43-year-old actress shared her astonishment that the pregnancy was successful, stating on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" that "we were so shocked it worked!"
Hathaway, already a mother to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, revealed her pregnancy last month via an Instagram video. She has been making public appearances to promote her role in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film "The Odyssey," showcasing her baby bump.
In an interview, Hathaway reflected on her fortune in becoming a mother, acknowledging that "not everybody who wants to be a parent gets to be." She expressed gratitude for her two previous successful pregnancies and her supportive partner. "I’m so lucky that he’s my partner that I spend my life with," she said of Shulman. "He holds it down."
Hathaway's professional year has also been notable, with the release of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" in May, reuniting her with original cast members. Her latest project, "The Odyssey," is slated for a July 17 release in the U.S. and UK and has received positive reviews. The film features an ensemble cast, including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus, and Zendaya as Athena. The casting of Lupita Nyong'o, Zendaya, and Travis Scott, as well as Elliot Page, has drawn some criticism.
Hathaway and Shulman, who married in 2012, are expecting their third child.
