Andy Cohen is set to take over one of Howard Stern's SiriusXM channels, a move confirmed by both personalities on Tuesday. Cohen's show, "Radio Andy," will transition from Channel 101 to Channel 102, while Stern's longtime Channel 101 will be handed over to Cohen.
During Tuesday's "Radio Andy" broadcast, Stern, 72, assured listeners that the announcement was not a prank, referencing a previous instance in September 2025 where he and Cohen, 58, humorously suggested Stern was retiring. Cohen recalled that event, stating, "Last year, we pranked the world. We made everybody think that I was taking over Howard 100. It was the best morning."
Stern expressed confidence in Cohen's stewardship of Channel 101, asking him to "continue the tradition of doing a lot of gay antics" and to "up the gay on air." Cohen quipped that Stern's show was already "gayer than" his. Stern concluded, "I feel Howard 101 is in very capable hands. Enjoy it, take good care of it. And if you blow it, I will be the first one to laugh at you. Don't screw it up."
Stern clarified that he is not relinquishing control of Channel 100. Meanwhile, Cohen's previous Channel 102 will be reassigned to Sebastian Maniscalco's Comedy Radio.
This channel handover coincides with news that Stern's show will be available to stream on HBO Max. Starting with the new season on September 14, episodes of "The Howard Stern Show" will be adapted from his live SiriusXM broadcast and made available on the streaming platform, alongside periodic extra content. This move marks the first time Stern's show will be accessible on HBO Max, offering viewers a "seat in the studio" experience.
In December 2025, Stern signed a three-year contract extension with SiriusXM, which includes more flexibility to allow for personal time. The broadcaster has continued to make headlines this year, including a dismissed lawsuit filed by his former assistant and the dismissal of several staff members in July.
