The ensemble cast includes Jamie Bell, Stephen Dillane, Tom Hollander, Cosmo Jarvis, Thomasin McKenzie, Jonny Lee Miller, Woody Norman, and Katherine Waterston.
Home Viewing Availability
"The Uprising" is currently exclusive to movie theaters. While a streaming release is expected, it will not be available on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video in the immediate future. As a Focus Features release, the film is slated for distribution through Universal Studios' platforms.
Fans can anticipate purchasing or renting "The Uprising" on digital platforms approximately one month after its theatrical debut. Following this, the movie is expected to begin streaming on Peacock, Universal's owned streaming service, roughly two months after its theatrical release. If the film follows a similar pattern to other Focus Features releases, this could place its digital availability around mid-October 2026 and its Peacock streaming debut around mid-November 2026. However, Universal's release strategy has varied, and some films have taken up to three months to reach Peacock.
After its initial four-month exclusive window on Peacock, "The Uprising" is scheduled to become available on Amazon Prime Video for a subsequent period. Based on the projected Peacock release, this would place its appearance on Prime Video around mid-to-late March 2027.
Peacock offers two subscription tiers: Premium, which costs $12.99 per month or $129.99 annually (with ads), and Premium Plus, which is $19.99 per month or $199.99 annually (ad-free). Annual plans offer a discount equivalent to two free months. A Premium Plus subscription is also available through Prime Video, including a seven-day free trial not offered through direct Peacock sign-ups.
For those eager to see the film immediately, theatrical screenings remain the only option.
