Andrea Bocelli is scheduled to return to Wales for the first time in two decades to perform at the inaugural Land of Song Festival. The Italian tenor will take the stage at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in May 2027.

The festival is envisioned as a celebration of Wales's musical heritage, featuring world-renowned artists and choirs, and drawing inspiration from the country's reputation as the "land of song." Bocelli expressed his excitement about making his first-ever headline appearance in Wales.

Bocelli, a globally recognized classical artist with nearly four decades of success, has received six Grammy nominations and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has previously performed for dignitaries including popes and U.S. presidents, and is known for hits like "Time To Say Goodbye" and "The Prayer." His performances have also graced major international events such as the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

In 2016, Bocelli performed for Leicester City fans at the King Power Stadium following their Premier League title win, an event he described as a "big fiesta." He noted his anticipation for adding Cardiff to the list of "many extraordinary places around the world" where he has performed.

His previous appearance in Wales was in 2005, when he participated in Bryn Terfel's Faenol Festival alongside other artists. Bocelli remarked that Wales's "rich choral heritage and deep connection with music make this city a fitting setting for this special concert."
