Irish postal service An Post has issued a limited-edition range of stamps commemorating Westlife’s 25th anniversary, immortalising the Irish boy band on letters and parcels as a tribute to their international success.

The collection includes booklets of four National Rate "N" stamps and 12,000 copies of a souvenir "band" stamp sheet. Each postage stamp is dedicated to one of the current band members — Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan — and the release also features a First Day Cover envelope with exclusive Westlife photography and a special commemorative "Sligo" stamp. The stamps were designed by Shaughn McGrath Creative in close collaboration with the band.

An Post said the stamps honour the group’s global impact and role as "wonderful ambassadors for Ireland and its music." Aileen Mooney, Irish Stamps Manager at An Post, said the organisation was proud "to celebrate Westlife's incredible journey" and described the stamps as more than postage, calling them "a celebration of Irish culture, a keepsake for fans, and a lasting tribute to 25 years of Westlife."

Westlife — formed by manager Louis Walsh in 1998 — has sold more than 55 million records and achieved 14 UK number-one singles. The quartet released a statement saying the recognition "means the world" to them and thanked fans and An Post: "It is such an honour and privilege to be featured on Irish stamps and it is a very special way to commemorate our 25 years of Westlife touring together. See you on the envelopes! Love Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane."

All current band members are from County Sligo except Byrne, who is from Dublin; former member Brian McFadden is not featured on the stamps. The band split in 2012 and reunited in 2018. They are due to mark their 25th anniversary with concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in October.

Mark Feehily announced in 2024 that he would be taking some time away from performing because of ill health; the remaining three members have continued to perform without him. An Post’s release does not alter concert arrangements but provides fans with a collectible commemorative item tied to the milestone year.

Fans seeking the stamps should note the souvenir band sheet is limited to 12,000 copies. The issue follows a pattern of postal services recognising cultural figures with stamp programmes, reflecting both popular appeal and a role in national identity.
