Amy Winehouse's parents, Mitch and Janis, paid tribute to their daughter on the 15th anniversary of her death, visiting her grave at Edgwarebury Cemetery in north London on Thursday.

Mitch and Janis, accompanied by friends and family, left yellow and red roses along with a photograph of Amy and her guitar at her graveside. Janis, 71, used a mobility walker and sat on a bench with Mitch, 75. The former couple divorced in 1993 when Amy was nine but have remained close.

Amy Winehouse died on July 23, 2011. Following two inquests, her cause of death was determined to be accidental alcohol poisoning. The singer had a well-documented history of alcohol and drug abuse, undergoing multiple rehabilitation attempts and struggling with withdrawal and anxiety.

She is buried with her grandmother, Cynthia Levy. Reports indicate that Amy's parents had led nine interventions regarding her substance use. Mitch Winehouse reportedly made significant efforts to steer his daughter away from a destructive lifestyle, even as she achieved international fame.

Following Amy's death, Mitch and his then-wife Jane, along with Amy's mother Janis, established the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The foundation aims to prevent young people from succumbing to similar struggles. Mitch has previously stated that the strain of Amy's death contributed to the end of his marriage to Jane, though he described their separation as amicable. He recalled constant calls at all hours to help his daughter, which impacted his marriage.

In 2024, a biopic, "Back to Black," based on Amy Winehouse's life, was released, starring Marisa Abela as the singer. The film faced criticism from some of Winehouse's friends, who called it "ridiculous" and "tasteless" and expressed a desire for her to be allowed to rest. Friends also voiced anger towards Mitch Winehouse for reportedly allowing scenes depicting his daughter's drug overdose to be filmed at her former flat, which he now owns. One friend described this as "disgusting" and stated that Amy would not have wanted her struggles to be the sole focus.

Amy Winehouse's 2006 album, "Back to Black," garnered significant international success, including five Grammy Awards, for songs such as "Rehab."
