Amy Schumer recently showcased her 50-pound weight loss during a lavish boat excursion, sharing snapshots of her holiday on Instagram. The 45-year-old actress, who has been documenting her fitness progress, posted images of herself enjoying the summer sun in a bikini.
Schumer was seen wearing a colorful bikini top with off-white bottoms and later added a patterned kimono. She also sported a one-piece blue swimsuit before diving into the water. The comedian documented her scuba diving preparations from the previous week, calling the experience a "dream come true" and expressing a newfound sense of bravery and groundedness. She indicated plans to continue scuba diving and share the activity with her son in the future.
The actress has been open about her weight loss, having previously discussed using Mounjaro after a negative experience with Ozempic. Schumer explained that a genetic predisposition to severe nausea, related to the GDF15 gene, made Ozempic's side effects, including extreme vomiting and fatigue, unmanageable. "I was like bedridden," she stated, describing how she felt she was "shriveling away" despite losing a significant amount of weight quickly. She found Mounjaro to be a more suitable option.
In December of the previous year, Schumer clarified that her weight loss totaled 50 pounds, not 30, noting that while it felt "fun and temporary," her motivation was also rooted in health. She revealed that she had been diagnosed with Cushing syndrome, a rare disorder caused by prolonged exposure to high cortisol levels, which she stated has since cleared. "Sorry for whatever feeling it's giving you that I lost that weight and I use mounjaro. Sorry to anyone [that] lets down," she added, referencing the public's perception of her weight loss.
Schumer's personal life has also seen significant changes. In December, she announced her separation from husband Chris Fischer after seven years of marriage, describing the decision as amicable. The couple married in February 2018 and welcomed their son, Gene, in 2019. Last month, Schumer shared an Instagram post highlighting her resilience, captioning a bikini photo with "C-section peaking out saying yeah I'm a warrior."
