Musical theater actress Amber Davies stated she requested an audience member be removed from a performance of "Legally Blonde" in Dublin due to filming the show. Davies, who plays the lead role of Elle Woods, said the individual was filming from the front row during the entirety of the first act.

Davies shared her experience via Instagram Stories during the show's intermission at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. She explained that the filming had been a distraction to the cast. "We've got a beautiful audience, but there's just one woman in the front row, been filming the entirety of act one, it's had us all distracted," she said. She indicated she had asked theater staff to address the situation for the second act.

In her post, Davies, still in costume and with her stage microphone on, reminded attendees, "your daily reminder not to film at the theatre." She asserted that the audience member had broken theater rules and that her "selfish actions" had impacted the morale of the cast and crew during their eighth show on a Saturday night.

Davies, a former winner of the reality television show Love Island, has transitioned to a career in acting and musical theater. The production company, Royo, declined to comment further on Davies' statement when contacted by BBC Newsbeat.
