Fashion designer Amanda Wakeley OBE has released a second capsule collection with John Lewis, featuring 12 new garments for the autumn season. The collection builds on a previously launched 16-piece range for spring.
Wakeley, whose clientele has included Diana, Princess of Wales, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has brought her signature style to the high street retailer. The new drop is exclusive to John Lewis and includes items in deep greens, paisley patterns, wool knits, and satin.
The collection is designed to be versatile, with pieces intended to integrate seamlessly into existing wardrobes and suit multiple occasions. Many items are noted for their polished aesthetic, potentially appealing to Catherine, Princess of Wales.
"I've positioned this collection so it's premium luxury rather than full-on luxury pieces, which is great," Wakeley stated about the line.
Standout pieces for autumn include a fringe wool cape, described by Wakeley as "quite fun," and a matching fringe wool maxi skirt. A wool-rich car coat in deep navy is also part of the offering. The collection prominently features paisley patterns, with an olive and black paisley blouse and a matching maxi skirt available. A kimono-style maxi dress also showcases the print, alongside a silk scarf that can be used as a scarf or tied to a handbag.
Other items include a Merino wool blend crew neck jumper with a tie detail at the waist and wide-leg chocolate brown leather trousers. The range also includes an "airshirt" in olive green and pink, which Wakeley suggests is suitable for pairing with jeans.
Pieces scheduled for later release include a satin and lace maxi skirt in ivory and navy, accompanied by a coordinating lace-trim cami top.
The new items are exclusive to John Lewis, with prices ranging from £95 to £875. The retailer is also offering the initial spring collection at reduced prices.
