Social media personality Alix Earle made a pointed remark about her ongoing feud with fellow influencer Alex Cooper, referencing the cancellation of Cooper's Hulu dating show, "Love Overboard." The jab came as Earle attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new Netflix reality series, "Earle Meets World."
Variety reported that "Love Overboard," executive produced by Cooper, was canceled by Hulu after only one season. The following day, Earle, at the premiere of her own show, addressed the perceived "betrayal" by Cooper. Earle's podcast, "Hot Mess," was previously part of Cooper's Unwell Network but was dropped last year, a move Earle described in her new series as a "betrayal" and an instance of Cooper "taking advantage" of her.
When asked by Entertainment Tonight about discussing the situation with Cooper on camera, Earle responded, "I'm happy that I said my piece and whatever, but I'm happier just to focus on the premiere and having the show out there." She then added with a smile and a shrug, "You know, hers are getting canceled so... It is what it is."
Earle was among the first talents signed by Cooper when she expanded her media presence beyond her "Call Her Daddy" podcast. Earle joined the Unwell Network in August 2023, hosting "Hot Mess," a podcast featuring weekly storytime discussions. However, the partnership dissolved by February, when "Hot Mess" left the Unwell Network. At the time, Cooper stated that Earle's inability to podcast was unrelated to Unwell.
The tension escalated in April when Earle reshared a TikTok that characterized Cooper as an "ambulance chaser" and "grim reaper," alluding to the often-traumatic stories shared on Cooper's podcast. Cooper responded via TikTok, accusing Earle of posting "passive-aggressive" content and urging her to be direct.
"Hey girl, the passive aggressive reposts and the likes and the commenting on things - I've got to call you out here," Cooper said in her video. "You're going to need to get specific and just say what you've got to say about me. There's no NDA. No one is stopping you."
Cooper continued, "Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself. What's the beef? I'm really tired of waking up and seeing you use this fake drama to distract from other s**t going online for you. I'm not interested." She concluded, "I know what happened and so do you... so talk. Unless the fake narrative that you are creating happens to be way more interesting than the truth. I have nothing to hide when it comes to you and me. So unless you actually have something to say, I'm out. This is over."
Weeks later, when asked about the feud on the "Today" show, Earle downplayed the conflict, stating, "It's exaggerated, I love everyone," and aimed to maintain a positive focus. Host Craig Melvin expressed skepticism, stating, "I'm not buying it," before moving on.
