Alisha Lehmann, a Leicester City player often dubbed the 'world's sexiest footballer,' and Montel McKenzie, who appeared on Love Island in 2023, have announced their engagement. The couple revealed the news on Instagram, sharing images of the proposal which occurred after a six-month romance.
Lehmann, 27, posted "forever and always" alongside photos of McKenzie, 28, getting down on one knee. The proposal took place on a beach, with Lehmann wearing a black mini dress and McKenzie in a cream sleeveless cricket jumper. Congratulatory messages were received from McKenzie's Love Island co-stars.
Speculation about an engagement began in May when the couple was seen visiting a jeweler. Lehmann and McKenzie first publicly acknowledged their relationship in January of this year.
Lehmann manages the six-a-side team MVPs United in The Baller League, a tournament for which McKenzie plays. The league features influencers, celebrities, and former football stars. McKenzie previously played for National League South side Hemel Hempstead and currently plays for Folkestone Invicta.
McKenzie has spoken about the challenges of finding a football club after gaining recognition from reality television, noting that some managers were hesitant due to concerns about his seriousness towards the sport. He has used platforms like The Baller League and Sky Sports to demonstrate his commitment to football.
Lehmann's past relationships include a four-year engagement with Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, which ended last year. McKenzie was previously coupled with Leah Taylor on Love Island and is set to appear on the All Stars spin-off in 2025.
