Episode 6 of Alien: Earth, titled “The Fly,” premieres Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 8 p.m. ET on FX and will be available to stream on Hulu at the same time. The episode returns the FX series to its main storyline after last week’s flashback to the ill-fated USCSS Maginot.

The series, created and showrun by Noah Hawley, is set in the year 2120 and imagines the consequences of a Weyland-Yutani research vessel bringing Xenomorphs back to Earth during what the show calls a corporate era, when five mega-companies divide control of the planet and beyond. The current episode is expected to examine the fallout from a Weyland-Yutani ship crash in Prodigy territory and the competing corporate interests that follow.

The series has centered on a number of interlocking conflicts: corporate overlords Boy Kavalier and Yutani are vying for alien biological samples; Boy has pursued a technology that transfers human consciousness into immortal “hybrid” bodies; and hybrid Wendy has been shown developing a method to communicate with the Xenomorphs while her brother, Hermit, watches on. Timothy Olyphant appears as the synthetic Kirsh, a character who has drawn attention for his unusual role in the story.

Episode 6 will be available on Hulu everywhere at 8 p.m. ET. For those watching live television, FX will air the episode at 8 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT; viewers should check local listings for channel numbers and any schedule variations. Alien: Earth is an FX original and also streams on platforms that carry FX, including traditional cable packages and virtual MVPDs such as YouTube TV, Fubo and Sling TV.

Hulu offers new subscribers a 30-day free trial of its basic, ad-supported plan; after the trial, that plan is priced at $9.99 per month. Hulu’s ad-free tier is $18.99 per month. Viewers who want multiple Disney-owned streaming services can choose from Disney+ bundle options that combine Disney+, Hulu and, in some tiers, Max; bundle pricing starts at $10.99 per month for ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu and goes up to $29.99 per month for ad-free Disney+, Hulu and Max.

The cast of Alien: Earth includes Sydney Chandler as Wendy, Alex Lawther as Hermit, Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier and Sandra Yi Sencindiver as Yutani. Other principal cast members include Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Lily Newmark, Erana James, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Young, Diêm Camille, Moe Bar-El and Sylvia Hoeks.

FX has not announced whether Alien: Earth will be renewed for a second season. A trailer for the series has been released and is available on the show’s promotional pages and streaming platform listings.

Episode 6’s return to the central plotline will follow the narrative beat that sent the show back to the Maginot’s last hours, and viewers tuning in Tuesday can expect further development of the corporate struggle over alien research, Wendy’s interactions with the Xenomorphs and the fallout of the Weyland-Yutani crash in Prodigy territory.

For the latest episode, viewers can stream on Hulu at 8 p.m. ET or watch the FX broadcast the same evening; those seeking cable or live-stream options should consult local listings or their MVPD provider for channel availability.
