Model Alessandra Ambrosio is engaged to jewelry designer Buck Palmer, announcing the news after two years of dating. Palmer proposed during a vacation in Indonesia.

Ambrosio shared the engagement on Instagram, posting photos of the proposal, which included a heart-shaped arrangement of red flowers on the beach. She also showcased her engagement ring, an elongated cushion-cut diamond set in a yellow gold bezel. Experts estimate the ring to be between 5 to 7 carats and valued between $200,000 and $500,000.

Olivia Landau, founder of The Clear Cut, noted that the elongated cushion-cut stone is currently a popular choice among celebrities. "I think [the yellow gold bezel setting] might be the new classic," she told Page Six Style, adding that bezel settings are trending for their sleek, modern, and classic appearance.

Roy Albers, Chief Gemological Officer at Worthy, explained that bezel settings are gaining popularity for their modern look and the added protection they offer to the diamond compared to traditional prong settings. Rare Carat CEO Ajay Anand commented on the ring's design, stating that the "simplicity of the setting" and the "warm yellow gold bezel frames the diamond beautifully without competing with it," allowing the center stone to be the focal point. He described the ring as "modern and understated while still being an absolute showstopper."
