Alannah Keyser has issued an apology after being removed from Season 8 of "Love Island USA" following the resurfacing of a video in which she sang along to a song containing a racial slur.

Keyser, 21, addressed the video in a TikTok post on Saturday, referring to it as a clip of her singing along to Roddy Ricch's 2019 track "The Box." "I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it, that was never my intention," Keyser stated. She added that the video is from six years ago and that the word is "just not in my vocabulary anymore."

The reality television personality also addressed screenshots that she claimed were falsified, asserting that "What has been shared does not reflect the truth, and it’s never been in my character to discriminate against anybody’s skin color." Keyser explicitly stated, "I do want to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind, and I never have."

Keyser explained that her heart "broke" upon seeing the online circulation of the video and that the experience has been a "learning lesson." She concluded her apology by stating it is her "nature to spread positivity and help others" and that she will continue to do so. Keyser is a student at the University of Southern California's film school.

Her departure from "Love Island USA" occurred after the video surfaced just hours after her arrival at Casa Amor. An insider told The US Sun that producers significantly trimmed down Keyser's scenes in episodes that had been pre-taped before the video's exposure. Producers were reportedly "disappointed and embarrassed" by the situation, describing it as another "mishap."

This is not the first instance of a contestant being removed from the show for similar reasons. Vasana Montgomery, 25, was also removed from the show prior to filming last month when a comparable video surfaced.
