Alanis Morissette, 52, has publicly identified as pansexual. The singer shared the revelation during a recent episode of the "Handsome" podcast, hosted by comedians Tig Notaro and Fortune Feimster, and screenwriter Mae Martin.

When asked by Feimster if she had ever wanted to be a lesbian, Morissette responded without hesitation, "I'm pansexual, so yeah." Notaro expressed surprise, to which Morissette affirmed, "I am." Martin also chimed in to say, "Me too!"

Morissette has previously been open about her struggles with love and sex addiction. Her relationship with actor Dave Coulier reportedly inspired her 1995 album "Jagged Little Pill." She also dated actor Dash Mihok and attorney Tom Ballanco. In 2002, she began dating actor Ryan Reynolds, and they were engaged for three years before their split in 2007. Reynolds later married Scarlett Johansson.

Morissette married rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway in 2010, and they have three children. She described her husband as having "zero desire to clip my wings."

Reflecting on past interviews, Morissette noted that she would handle intrusive questions differently now. "It just became normalized to hurt women every day, call her a b ore, tell her she's a slut," she told The Sunday Times in June, referring to past media interactions.

The singer is currently performing her "Butterfly with a Machete" residency in Los Angeles, a show that combines music and storytelling.
