Hollie Shearer, daughter of former England footballer Alan Shearer, married England rugby player Joe Marchant in a legal ceremony on Friday. Shearer, 31, and Marchant, 30, tied the knot with the news shared by the former England captain on his Instagram stories.
Alan Shearer posted several photos from the event, including one of the newlyweds signing the wedding register, where Hollie showcased her diamond ring. She opted for a strapless wedding dress with a rose detail at the waist, while Marchant wore a beige suit. The couple appeared beaming in photos shared by Shearer.
Hollie, an singer and influencer, previously announced her engagement to Marchant on Instagram, sharing a picture of the couple in front of the Eiffel Tower and her diamond ring. She captioned the post: "BEST DAY EVER!! Got to say yes to my favourite person."
Her father, Alan Shearer, reacted to the engagement announcement with a series of heart-eye and clapping hand emojis. The couple confirmed their relationship in April 2022, having dated for four months prior.
Last month, Hollie celebrated her hen party in a sun-soaked location with her mother, Lainya, sister Chloe, and her bridal party. She shared photos on Instagram showing the group relaxing on the beach and enjoying drinks and pizza. For the hen do, Hollie wore a white bikini with a personalized "Mrs Marchant" sarong.
Marchant is a professional rugby player who plays centre for England and was a key player in the team's third-place finish at the 2023 World Cup. He moved from the Harlequins in December 2022 to join French Top 14 side Stade Français. Alan Shearer, a former England captain, holds the record for the most Premier League goals and is now a BBC pundit.
