Alan Ritchson, star of the Amazon Prime series "Reacher," and his wife, Catherine, have announced they are ending their marriage after two decades together. The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, revealing their decision to "end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way."

In their statement, Ritchson and his wife emphasized their shared history and the importance of their three sons. "We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world," they wrote. "Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us or the love and respect we will always share."

The couple expressed their commitment to moving forward with "friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be." They also requested privacy during this transition, noting, "Change is hard enough without the whole world weighing in. We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion."

According to TMZ, Ritchson initially filed for divorce in December. The couple reconciled in March before announcing their separation in September.

Ritchson and Catherine met as teenagers in high school, reconnected in college, and married in May 2006. Over the course of their marriage, they welcomed three sons: Calem, Edan, and Amory.

Ritchson's acting career gained significant traction with his role as Jack Reacher, which premiered in 2022. Prior to that, he held roles in "Smallville," "Blue Mountain State," and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."
