Alan Carr became emotional, breaking down in tears as he accepted the Special Recognition award at the National Television Awards on Tuesday. The prestigious honor celebrates Carr's two-decade career in television.

During the ceremony, Carr's friends Amanda Holden and Paloma Faith paid tribute with a performance that included Faith being brought on stage in a coffin, a nod to her character's fate on the BBC show "Celebrity Traitors." Viewers on X, formerly Twitter, lauded the performance as "one of the campest things they've ever seen."

Carr, who admitted he suspected a surprise after being seated in the front row, joked about his usual placement "in the back with the people from Naked Attraction." He received the award following the performance by Holden and Faith.
