AFL WAG and Triple J host Dee Salmin has voiced strong criticism of a social media trend where women publicly praise their boyfriends for performing basic tasks. Salmin, who is in a relationship with Collingwood captain Darcy Moore, argued in a Substack post that women should not place men on a pedestal for actions considered the "bare minimum" in a relationship.

Salmin expressed frustration with online content featuring men cooking, cleaning, or caring for children, often set to inspirational music, and being lauded as "dream partners." She stated that she was "filled with rage" seeing such posts, calling it "insane" to celebrate men for doing things that "every normal human being in a relationship should be doing."

She highlighted a perceived double standard, noting that women are rarely recognized for managing the majority of household duties, childcare, and maintaining social connections while also holding down full-time jobs. "Nobody posts a TikTok about that," Salmin wrote, emphasizing that women's extensive efforts are often expected and go unacknowledged.

According to Salmin, celebrating men for minimal contributions not only enables poor behavior but can also lead women to overlook significant flaws in their partners. She suggested that this practice can result in women "lie[ing] to ourselves because we'd rather be in a sh***y relationship than not be in one at all," urging for greater honesty.

Salmin has been in a long-term relationship with Darcy Moore since 2023, and the couple moved in together earlier in 2026. She previously hosted ABC's "Ladies, We Need To Talk" and currently presents Triple J radio's sex education program, "The Sunday Hook Up."
