Adele's recent appearance at the F1 Grand Prix of Great Britain has drawn significant attention, with many fans commenting on her notably altered look. Cosmetic experts suggest that while substantial weight loss can dramatically change facial features, subtle aesthetic treatments may also have contributed to her new appearance.

Dr. Alma Kamenica told The Daily Mail that significant weight loss alone can transform a face, but also noted that Botox could have played a role. "It’s possible that subtle treatments such as Botox may have been used to soften expression lines, while small amounts of dermal filler or collagen-stimulating injectables could help restore volume that is often lost following weight reduction," she explained. She emphasized, however, that these are possibilities and her assessment is not a confirmation of any procedures. "Whatever her routine, the overall result looks balanced, natural and very much in keeping with her own features. Adele looks fantastic."

According to Dr. Kamenica, "If someone has experienced substantial weight loss, it’s common to see some loss of facial volume and skin laxity. Many people choose non-surgical skin tightening treatments such as Morpheus8 Burst to help stimulate collagen production, improve skin firmness and maintain definition without changing their natural features."

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Paul Banwell added that changes in facial contour and skin quality can be a result of aging, weight fluctuations, skincare, makeup, lighting, and potentially non-surgical or surgical treatments. "In patients seeking subtle rejuvenation, common options may include anti-wrinkle injections to soften dynamic lines, conservative use of dermal fillers to restore age-related volume loss, skin-boosting injectable treatments, collagen-stimulating therapies, laser resurfacing or radiofrequency skin tightening to improve skin texture and firmness," he stated. Dr. Banwell also noted that significant weight loss can lead to a more hollow or drawn appearance due to the diminishing of facial fat pads, and that Adele’s well-publicized weight loss is an example of how body weight changes can alter facial proportions.

Adele's transformation first became apparent in 2020 when she shared a photo showcasing a 100-pound weight loss on Instagram for her birthday. Her former personal trainer, Camila Goodis, had claimed at the time that the changes were primarily due to a significant calorie reduction. However, Adele later clarified that her weight loss was the result of a two-year mission to become strong and healthy, rather than a specific diet.

"It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone," Adele told British Vogue. "The gym became my time. I realised that when I was working out, I didn't have any anxiety. It was never about losing weight. I thought, If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong."

She admitted to becoming "quite addicted" to exercise, working out two to three times a day, including weightlifting, hiking, and boxing. Adele stated that she did not follow any diets, including intermittent fasting, and actually ate more than she used to due to her intense workout regimen. She acknowledged that this schedule was not attainable for everyone, as she had trainers and was not working at the time.

Adele has also addressed the backlash she received regarding her weight loss, stating that it did not bother her. Speaking with Oprah Winfrey, she said, "I wasn't shocked or even fazed by it – my body has been objectified my entire career. Am I too big or am I too small, am I hot or not or whatever, I never looked up to anyone because of their body. I was body positive then and I'm body positive now. But it's not my job to validate how people feel about their bodies."

She added that she felt bad if her weight loss "made anyone feel horrible about themselves, but that's not my job. I'm trying to sort my own life out." Adele has expressed that she does not focus on weight fluctuations and finds enjoyment in lifting weights, noting her progress from a 10-pound deadlift to 160 pounds. In 2022, she also mentioned taking up hiking to prepare for her Las Vegas residency performances.
