Actress AnnaLynne McCord has revealed she received death threats after a crowdfunding page for her wedding to former rugby star Danny Cipriani was mistakenly made public. The couple, who are set to marry in their Los Angeles garden on Saturday, had asked friends and family to contribute to their wedding expenses.

McCord, 39, told The Sun that she intended to share the wedding wishlist only with guests but inadvertently made it accessible to the public. This led to a wave of criticism, with some commenters calling her "despicable" and accusing her of trying to extort money. "People actually donated ten dollars towards the wedding so they could write on the site that Danny and I were disgusting," McCord stated. "There were even death threats."

The request for guests to contribute to the approximately £10,000 wedding bill, which included specific items like flowers and the wedding cake, drew criticism from some who deemed it "tacky and distasteful" given the couple's public profiles. Cipriani, 38, is estimated to have earned around £4 million during his rugby career, while McCord has amassed a significant fortune from her acting roles in shows like "Nip/Tuck" and "90210."

McCord explained that the crowdfunding page was created because guests frequently asked what gifts the couple desired. "Everyone was asking what they could give us. I was like, I have five blenders. I have everything for my home," she said. She added that the wedding invite mentioned that in lieu of gifts, they would appreciate contributions towards elements of the day. "I didn’t know that it was an open link until a co-star at work asked me: 'Are you crowdfunding for your wedding?'"

This ceremony in Los Angeles is the first of three planned celebrations. The couple intends to hold another ceremony in London to accommodate more of Cipriani's family, followed by a "traditional celebration" in Cambodia. The initial Los Angeles wedding was planned on short notice.

McCord and Cipriani first met on the dating app Raya approximately a decade ago. They dated on and off for several years, experienced a split in 2020, and reconnected in 2024, only to separate again in January 2025. Despite their on-again, off-again relationship, they appeared to reconcile last summer, with Cipriani publicly expressing his affection for McCord on her birthday.

McCord's engagement ring is reportedly a 15-carat emerald-cut diamond with seven round accent diamonds on each side, set in yellow gold.
