Model Abbey Clancy has spoken out about the feeling of becoming 'invisible' as women reach the age of 40, asserting that societal standards often allow men to age more gracefully in the public eye. Clancy shared these reflections on her podcast, "The Therapy Crouch," co-hosted with her husband Peter.

During a discussion prompted by a listener seeking advice on finding love at 54, Clancy related her own experiences and those of a friend. "My friend Liberty is coming on and she's 54 and I'm 40 and we were talking about how you become invisible at 40," Clancy said on the podcast. "You know, for a lot of people, they do feel a bit overlooked and can lose confidence."

She further elaborated on the differing societal expectations for men and women regarding aging. "You don't go to a man, 'oh my God, he's so wrinkly.' You know, society says that about women. Why aren't we allowed to have wrinkles on our face?" Clancy questioned, emphasizing that women still desire romance and engagement with life regardless of age.

Clancy contrasted this with the perceived advantage men have, stating, "But men age so much better than women." The podcast episode also touched upon Clancy's recent experience getting intoxicated during a wine-tasting session with her friend Liberty and husband Peter. She admitted to being "absolutely p****d" during the event, which was documented for a special episode of their podcast.
