A 60-foot mechanical robot, a relic from Robbie Williams' 2011 Take That tour, has become a source of local bewilderment and unease after being abandoned on his former estate in Compton Bassett, Wiltshire. The towering figure, nicknamed Om, once cost an estimated £15 million as part of the tour's elaborate stage production. Now, 15 years after its last performance, the animatronic is largely inactive and visible among the foliage of Williams' former property, prompting concerned reactions from villagers.

Residents have described the robot as a "creepy fella" and have likened it to the Wicker Man, a large, human-shaped effigy historically believed by ancient Roman writers to have been used for sacrifices. One local who spotted the figure while driving through the area expressed surprise, stating, "I thought: 'what's that?'. I've driven up and down that road many times and have never spotted it before." Upon stopping, they saw the "giant humanoid sitting in amongst the trees, looking down into the field."

Another resident recounted their initial reaction, saying, "When I first saw it I had to turn around and go back to see what I thought I'd seen. It must be as big as a house." They added, "It caught me completely off guard but I was intrigued. I thought someone had built a Wicker Man."

15 years after the tour wrapped, the animatronic figure is no longer in action and instead sits in the grounds of Robbie's former Wiltshire estate - much to the alarm of passers-by.

Concerns about the effigy's appearance were shared on local social media groups. One poster noted the figure's uncanny ability to "emerge from nowhere" and seem to "withdraw back into the foliage" as one drives past, adding a layer of mystery and apprehension.

The robot sculpture is situated on Williams' former 71-acre estate, which he purchased in 2008 before relocating to Los Angeles. The figure, when fully erect, stands at 100 feet tall.

This situation emerges shortly after Williams addressed a viral moment from the World Cup final, where fans speculated about his appearance. Williams clarified that a Nicorette mint had fallen from his mouth during a live interview, a moment he later described on social media as "the most me thing I've ever done."
