Jeff Locke-Lavell, a 73-year-old from the United Kingdom, has embarked on a new chapter of his life by becoming a TUI BLUE representative in Majorca, Spain. This career change has proven to be transformative, allowing him to embrace a sunnier lifestyle and even learn scuba diving.

Formerly working in London's demanding hospitality sector for approximately two decades, Locke-Lavell managed pubs and experienced long hours and constant activity. He described his previous life as "go, go, go," a stark contrast to his current role where he assists holidaymakers. "Instead, I've started a completely new chapter and I'm happier than ever," he stated.

His move to Spain was influenced by his wife, Sarah, who moved to the country a decade prior to be near her parents. The couple had visited Nerja and were drawn to the Spanish lifestyle, the warmth of the people, the pace of life, and the weather. They purchased a property for renovation with plans for Jeff to retire and enjoy a slower pace.

However, Sarah secured a role as a Kids Club rep with TUI, which often required her to be away. This separation prompted Jeff to consider a similar path. Encouraged by his wife, he applied for a TUI BLUE rep position. He expressed surprise and delight upon being hired at his age, calling it "the best thing that's happened to me."

Locke-Lavell now works at the TUI BLUE Sensatori Biomar, where his responsibilities include welcoming guests, offering local insights, and assisting in creating holiday experiences. TUI BLUE hotels aim to reduce holiday stress by integrating accommodation, activities, and on-site support. He finds variety in his role, engaging with guests who have diverse needs, from relaxation to adventure.

His recommendations for visitors include exploring the mountains around Sóller, taking coastal boat trips to discover hidden coves, and day trips to Palma to experience its old town, cathedral, and culinary scene. He also highlights the value of TUI's offered experiences for families seeking to maximize their time without added stress.

Outside of work, Jeff and Sarah explore Majorca. Locke-Lavell has also pursued a personal ambition by learning to scuba dive, an activity he previously lacked the confidence to try. He believes his current role has provided him with the encouragement to pursue such goals.

Locke-Lavell encourages others, particularly those later in life, to pursue significant changes. "Life's too short to sit back and wonder what if. I thought my best years were behind me, but it turns out they were only just getting started," he said, emphasizing that opportunities are not limited by age.
