Bec Judd has voiced her strong disapproval of the Australian government's financial management as the nation braces for its fifth interest rate hike of the year. The 43-year-old television personality and model shared a segment from Sky News Australia on her Instagram Story, featuring journalist Ross Greenwood highlighting the country's frequent rate increases.

Greenwood's report indicated that Australia has experienced more interest rate hikes in 2026 than any other major Western nation. Judd captioned the video, "Just posting here ahead of our fifth interest hike tomorrow." She accompanied the post with a quote attributed to former U.S. President Ronald Reagan: "We don't have inflation because the people are living too well. We have inflation because the government is living too well."

The video's headline questioned whether Ross Greenwood or Treasurer Jim Chalmers was presenting the accurate information.

The Reserve Bank of Australia is widely expected to increase the official cash rate for the fifth time in 2026, a move that would bring it to 4.85 percent, the highest level in 18 years. This anticipated hike follows seven consecutive months of declining Australian property prices.

Economists predict the Reserve Bank will raise the cash rate by 0.25 percentage points following its upcoming Monetary Policy Board meeting. Commonwealth Bank economists adjusted their forecasts after the Reserve Bank indicated that inflation is likely to remain higher than previously expected, influenced by rising energy costs, increased investment in artificial intelligence, and ongoing economic constraints.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has faced criticism for his extensive international travel schedule, which coincides with the rising cost of living and increasing interest rates for Australians. Albanese departed the country on Saturday to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua and Barbuda at the personal request of King Charles. He is not scheduled to return until the following Friday.

She added a famous quote from former American President Ronald Reagan. 'We don't have inflation because the people are living too well. We have inflation because the government is living too well,' the quote reads.
