Pabst Blue Ribbon is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of 1,602 cases of its beer and non-alcoholic Old Milwaukee that went missing on Aug. 17 in Southern California.
Greig DeBow, CEO of Pabst Brewing Co., stated that the company wants the beer back and is offering the reward to anyone who provides new information that leads to its recovery. "I'm sure they look cool with a garage full of PBR. That's actually not cool though. We want it back," DeBow said in a TikTok post.
Montclair, California police reported that the beer was stolen from a warehouse in two separate incidents on the same day. The first theft involved approximately $45,000 worth of beer that was picked up but never delivered to Tucson, Arizona. About an hour later, a company using fake documents picked up another $25,000 worth of beer. Both incidents occurred at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center located about 40 miles east of Los Angeles.
In total, an estimated 40,000 pounds of beer, valued at $70,000, were stolen. Pabst has requested the beer be returned by Sept. 9. Those with information are encouraged to contact [email protected].
This beer theft is one of several notable food heists in recent times. Last year, incidents in New England resulted in the theft of 40,000 oysters, $400,000 worth of lobster, and a quantity of crabmeat. In March, Swiss food giant Nestlé reported that 413,793 KitKat chocolate bars were stolen after departing its production site in Italy.
