Hampton Grocer has issued a nationwide recall for its eight-ounce bags of Lacnola Lactation Granola, a product specifically formulated to support breastfeeding mothers, due to concerns over possible salmonella contamination. The recall extends to products distributed through mail orders on the company's website and via online retailers such as Amazon.

The affected granola, which contains ingredients like organic oats, flaxseed, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and moringa, was produced between October 21, 2025, and August 12, 2026. Hampton Grocer stated that the recall was initiated after being alerted by the supplier of the organic moringa powder, a key ingredient, that a sample of the powder tested positive for salmonella. The company is currently investigating the source of the contamination.

As of August 14, no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled granola. Hampton Grocer has confirmed that all affected products have been removed from online platforms. The company advises consumers who may have purchased the product to immediately dispose of it and contact their point of purchase for a full refund.

The lot codes for the potentially impacted products are HGLC-102125 with an expiration date of October 21, 2026, and HGLC-021326 with an expiration date of February 13, 2027. These codes and expiration dates are printed in black ink on the upper left side of the back of the pink, eight-ounce stand-up pouches.

Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, it can lead to more serious health issues, including bloodstream infections, endocarditis, and arthritis, particularly in vulnerable populations. Symptoms typically appear between six hours and six days after ingestion. While healthy individuals often recover within four to seven days without specific treatment, medical attention may be required for more severe cases or for those with weakened immune systems. Consumers experiencing persistent diarrhea, high fever, bloody diarrhea, severe vomiting, or signs of dehydration are advised to seek medical care.
