The Greenaway Foundation is organizing a charity music event, Greenaway Live, to help fund its initiative providing Christmas dinners for families facing financial hardship. The event, held at Crawley Rugby Club on Saturday, will donate proceeds to support the foundation's goal of supplying ingredients for a two-course Christmas meal.
Darren Greenaway, the founder of the charity, stated that the Christmas project is expanding and requires approximately £200,000 this year. The foundation also facilitates a "make a wish for a Christmas present" program for children from low-income families, with gifts delivered on Christmas Eve. The organization anticipates supporting more than 1,000 families in 2026, and Greenaway noted the emotional impact of their deliveries, with some parents expressing gratitude through tears.
The second annual Greenaway Live event is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM BST. The festival was first held in 2025, and its continuation reflects growing support. The event will also be streamed on the charity's social media channels. Greenaway described the efforts to organize the festival, noting that all performing artists are donating their time, likening the event to a "mini Live Aid."
