Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter is reportedly seeking to sell his stake in the Cadillac Formula 1 team for approximately $3 billion, with Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the majority owner of the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Penguins, among the interested parties.
According to reports, at least seven potential buyers have expressed interest in the F1 team. The Guardian reported that FSG is one of these parties. FSG has recently seen a significant influx of capital after selling a 38% stake in Liverpool Football Club to a consortium that included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin in the summer.
Walter has been active in sports franchise sales in recent months. He previously sold his stake in the Premier League club Chelsea and is reportedly looking to sell the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks for $700 million. He also sold his stake in the Lakers to Josh Kushner for $12.5 billion.
Despite these divestments, Walter has stated that he has no intention of selling the Los Angeles Dodgers. The potential sale of the F1 team to FSG, or any other party, is not guaranteed. Walter has also sold his stake in the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks for $700 million.
