Woman Faces 65 Charges for Alleged Theft at Ontario Hospitals

Police in Ontario, Canada, have charged a woman with 65 offenses, including fraud and theft, for allegedly stealing from patients and staff at several healthcare centers in the province. The suspect has been identified as Nassim Eronn, 34, of Burlington.

According to a statement from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the investigation was initiated following multiple reports of theft and fraud involving patients and staff members within healthcare facilities. The incidents under investigation reportedly began in February 2024 and continued until last month. The suspect is alleged to have worked at health centers across the province during this period.

Eronn faces charges that include 34 counts of fraud under $5,000, 13 counts of theft under $5,000, and seven counts of disobeying a court order. Additional charges include breach of trust and impersonation.

The OPP's investigation into Eronn began in May after a report of theft while she was employed at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. Police stated at the time that the investigation was prompted by several complaints of theft and fraud from patients and staff within that hospital. The investigation later expanded to include more hospitals where further incidents were uncovered. Police reported that multiple search warrants were executed, leading to the seizure of a significant amount of property.
