A 32-year-old woman has been arrested following the discovery of a 4-year-old boy's body at a property in Wyong, located on Australia's Central Coast. New South Wales Police confirmed they attended the residence for a welfare check on Saturday afternoon.
Officers had previously attempted to speak with a woman at a local police station around 4:40 p.m. before proceeding to the Wyong property. Upon arrival, they found the body of a child who is believed to be four years old. The boy had sustained significant injuries to his arm, police reported.
The woman taken into custody is understood to be known to the child. Following the discovery, police established a crime scene at the property to begin their investigation. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
