Approximately 1,200 properties in various parts of Kent are experiencing no water or low water pressure due to disruptions affecting South East Water (SEW) supplies. The company has issued apologies to customers in affected areas, citing multiple contributing factors.

In the Charing, Challock, and Molash areas, around 800 properties have been without drinking water since Saturday. SEW stated it is actively working to restore provisions. Another 400 properties in Benenden, Rolvenden, and surrounding communities are facing low pressure or no water, attributed to recent pipe bursts compounded by high demand during hot weather.

Customers in Blean, Canterbury, are also experiencing supply issues due to a technical problem preventing water pumping. SEW has indicated that efforts are underway to resolve this technical issue as quickly as possible.

Earlier disruptions in the Herne Bay area on Sunday have been resolved, with supplies restored overnight. However, the area is facing renewed problems on Monday morning as the primary drinking water storage tank remains critically low. SEW is attempting to replenish the storage tank levels to restore service.
