Warsaw's international airport has been closed following a bomb threat on a LOT Polish Airlines flight that departed from London Heathrow Airport. The flight, with 118 passengers aboard, was en route to Warsaw-Chopin Airport but was diverted to Warsaw-Modlin Airport.
The threat was announced at 9:54 a.m. local time. The aircraft landed safely, and security forces are currently investigating the alert, according to a statement from the airport.
This incident follows a similar event the previous day, when a fighter jet escorted a Wizz Air passenger plane flying from London to Bulgaria after a bomb threat was made onboard. The Wizz Air flight, which departed from London Luton Airport, was diverted to Budapest Airport in Hungary, where authorities conducted security checks. Wizz Air confirmed that nothing suspicious was found on the aircraft.
