Violent Prisoner Escapes London Medical Facility, Manhunt Underway
Authorities warn the public not to approach Anthony Lloyd, who poses a risk to themselves and others.
A manhunt is underway for Anthony Lloyd, 38, a violent inmate who escaped from a medical facility in Lewisham, South London on Friday afternoon. Lloyd was last seen at approximately 4:10 p.m. forcing his way out of the unit and heading towards Catford.
The Metropolitan Police stated that Lloyd poses a risk to both himself and the public. He is described as being around 5 feet 8 inches tall, of medium build, with short dark hair. At the time of his escape, he was reportedly wearing a grey-blue t-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers.
Police are urging anyone who sees Lloyd to call 999 immediately and to not approach him. Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley, leading the investigation, confirmed that significant inquiries are being conducted to locate Lloyd and return him to custody. She appealed for any information, no matter how small, that could assist in his swift return.
Lloyd was convicted in 2025 for Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) stemming from an incident in Nottinghamshire that involved three emergency workers. He received a 12-month custodial sentence for this offense and was serving it in prison before his transfer to the Lewisham medical facility in September.
Authorities believe Lloyd could be anywhere within London but also have connections to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside.
