A vigil is scheduled to take place in Ballymena on Wednesday evening for a family of three discovered deceased at a home on the Cullybackey Road. Police initiated a murder investigation after the bodies of a 41-year-old man, a 39-year-old woman, and an eight-year-old girl were found on Monday at approximately 9:00 AM BST.
Community Gathers in Mourning
Services were held on Wednesday morning at All Saints Catholic Church, where prayers were offered for the family. The vigil is planned for 6:30 PM BST at the Braid Arts Centre. The honorary consul of Poland in Northern Ireland, Jerome Mullen, described the incident as an unprecedented tragedy in his 18 years in the role.
PSNI Superintendent William Calderwood stated that emergency services encountered a "shocking scene" upon arrival. It is understood that the woman found at the residence was the mother of the young girl. While the family originated from Poland, the child was reportedly born in Northern Ireland.
