A vehicle collided with a crowd of Australian rugby fans on Saturday, injuring 10 people, including multiple children, near Sydney. The incident occurred as fans gathered on the road to cheer for the Newcastle Knights rugby team.

Two individuals, a 5-year-old girl and a 67-year-old man, sustained critical injuries. The remaining eight injured individuals, including another 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old girl, were reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital, according to New South Wales police.

Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old male driver of the vehicle. Investigators are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police have stated that the incident is not believed to be linked to terrorism.

Thousands of fans had been present throughout the week to watch the team's training sessions in anticipation of an upcoming rugby league finals match scheduled for Sunday. The crowd on Saturday morning was present to see the team bus depart for the event.
