Singer Ben Ofoedu, 54, has appeared in court charged with harassing a woman, an accusation that allegedly occurred within days of a non-molestation order being imposed against him. The order was put in place by a family court in May at the request of a woman who cannot be named.

Ofoedu, who was engaged to TV star Vanessa Feltz for 16 years before their split, pleaded not guilty to the charges at Croydon Magistrates Court. The court heard that he is accused of breaching the order by reposting a YouTube video that identified the complainant. This alleged breach occurred 17 days after the order was made.

During the brief hearing, Ofoedu confirmed his name, address, and date of birth. He requested that his case be heard at Crown Court, a move agreed to by Judge Nicola Fleck. His next appearance is scheduled for December 1 in London. Ofoedu was granted unconditional bail.

Following the hearing, Ofoedu described the accusations as "trivial" and expressed hope for a "speedy end to the situation." He is currently living in Carlisle, where he had previously appeared before magistrates on the same matter.

Ofoedu and Feltz separated three years ago after he admitted to infidelity. He later stated in interviews that he and Feltz had not made peace and that he did not speak to her, feeling she had written "terrible things" about him in her memoir and handled their breakup with "incredibly bad taste."

Ofoedu has also been involved in legal proceedings as a complainant, having reported a woman for stalking him in 2023, alleging she called him up to 100 times a day and took photos outside his home.
