UK Weather Set to Improve with Warmer, Drier Conditions Expected

Parts of the United Kingdom can anticipate a return to warmer and drier weather next week as an area of high pressure builds, potentially blocking Atlantic storm systems.
Temperatures could climb as high as 25C (77F) in some areas of England and Wales, which is several degrees above the seasonal average. This shift comes after a period of highly variable weather characterized by wind and rain across much of the UK. Despite the recent unsettled conditions, large parts of England and all of Wales remain under drought conditions.
The forecast indicates that the high pressure will largely prevent the wind and rain typically brought by weather systems from the Atlantic from affecting the country. While North-west Scotland may still experience some rain, the rest of the UK is expected to see drier conditions, lighter winds, and higher daytime temperatures. The change is anticipated to begin after Friday, which is expected to bring cloud and rain from the west due to south-westerly winds.
Over the weekend, the northern half of the UK is predicted to experience a return to sunshine interspersed with blustery showers, particularly in Scotland. The southern half of the UK may remain cloudier with a muggy feel, and a chance of light rain and drizzle.
