A London-based pizzeria has been recognized as the best in Europe, according to a recent industry ranking. Napoli on the Road, located in the UK's capital, secured the top position in a list that highlights Europe's premier pizza destinations.

The accolade challenges the traditional notion of Italy as the sole authority on exceptional pizza, placing a UK establishment at the forefront of European pizza making. Napoli on the Road is operated by Michele Pascarella.

The list features a total of 30 pizzerias from across the continent. Following Napoli on the Road, the second-best pizza establishment in Europe is Baldoria in Madrid, Spain. Third place was awarded to IMperfetto in Puteaux, France.

Other UK restaurants also made the top rankings, with 50 Kalò and L’Antica Pizzeria, both in London, and Stile Napoletano in Chester appearing on the list. Specifically, 50 Kalò was ranked fourth.

In fourth place is another UK establishment - 50 Kalò by Ciro Salvo

Several Spanish restaurants were also recognized, including Sartoria Panatieri and Balmesina in Barcelona, and Fratelli Figurato and Baldoria in Madrid.

The ranking showcases a diverse spread of European culinary talent, with pizzerias from Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Portugal, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Poland, North Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, France, Finland, and Switzerland also represented. Among them, Pizza Zulu in Fürth, Germany, secured the sixth position.
