The musician faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to murder, stemming from an incident where an innocent woman was shot.
A top-ten UK rapper, known as Clavish, has been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting that resulted in an innocent woman being wounded.
Clavish, whose legal name is Cian Wright, is accused of opening fire on a rival on a street in Stamford Hill, north London, on May 14, 2024. The charges against the 27-year-old musician include conspiracy to murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was remanded in custody after appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.
The incident occurred when a 38-year-old woman was struck in the leg by a bullet. Detectives stated at the time that she was not believed to be the intended target. Armed police responded to reports of a gunfight between two cars on Reizel Close, near the Stamford Hill road, around 7:40 p.m. Witnesses described occupants of the vehicles exchanging gunfire before speeding away.
Footage from the aftermath showed the injured woman on the pavement as bystanders provided assistance. She was taken to an east London hospital, where her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway of the Metropolitan Police characterized the incident as an illustration of the 'dreadful impact of gun crime across all of our communities.'
