Two men have been charged with murder in connection with the death of George Glover, 27, who was attacked while cycling in Leicester. Glover died three days after the incident, which occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Monday on Narborough Road.
Chae Smith, 31, and Joshua Cook, 24, are each facing a murder charge and a charge of robbery. Smith also faces a charge of possession of a bladed article. Louise O'Connor, 39, has been charged with one count of robbery.
Glover was found by a member of the public and taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he later died from his injuries. Detective Inspector Kevin Hames described the incident as a "violent and unprovoked attack that's sadly led to a young man losing his life."
Glover's family described him as a "much-loved son and big brother to his three siblings," adding that he was a "hardworking, focused young man" who enjoyed simple activities like working on his bike and gaming. They also noted his loving nature, loyalty, and sense of humor, and expressed pride in the young man he had become despite a challenging start in life.
