Two people died in a violent incident at the private Docemus school in Gosen-Neu Zittau, near Berlin, according to local media reports. The victims were identified as an 18-year-old secondary school student and a 30-year-old man who was killed attempting to intervene.

A 19-year-old male suspect has been arrested. Authorities are investigating whether the suspect was a former student at the school. Brandenburg police confirmed the arrest on social media, stating they had detained the individual "following an act of violence" and were securing the crime scene.

Maz Online reported that the suspect is believed to be the ex-boyfriend of the 18-year-old victim. The school's managing director, Michael Kunz, announced that classes would be canceled on Friday due to the ongoing investigation.

"Due to the ongoing investigation, we cannot and will not provide any information regarding the specific circumstances and sequence of events at this time," Kunz told local media. He added that the school would remain open to students seeking a safe space to gather and process the events.

A decision regarding the future structure of school life will be made in the coming days. In a separate incident last month, two girls were seriously injured at a secondary school in southern Germany, and a 16-year-old suspect was arrested.
