Two helicopters collided Tuesday while attempting to land at a helipad in Nepal's Solukhumbu district, a region near Mount Everest, killing one passenger and injuring another, according to Nepal Police.

The crash was reportedly captured on a livestream weather camera at approximately 8:11 a.m. local time.

One of the helicopters was a commercial cargo craft with a pilot as its sole passenger. The second helicopter carried a pilot and two tourists; one of the tourists sustained fatal injuries at the scene, according to local news site Everest Today.

While Nepal's primary climbing season for Everest has concluded, the country is currently in its peak autumn trekking period. This incident follows devastating late-August flash floods and may represent another setback for Nepal's crucial tourism and aviation industries.
