Two individuals in France have been convicted of aggravated violence in connection with the death of streamer Raphaël Graven, also known as Jean Pormanove. Graven, 46, died in August 2025 in a village near Nice, and his death was broadcast live on the streaming platform Kick.
The convicted men, Safine Hamadi and Owen Cenazandotti, were found to have been involved in extreme challenges that were part of Graven's content. They stated that these stunts occurred with Graven's consent. Neither man faced charges of manslaughter, as prosecutors indicated that the probable causes of death appeared to be related to Graven's pre-existing poor health and fragile heart.
During his broadcasts on Kick, Graven, who had over one million followers across social media platforms, was frequently subjected to humiliation and violent acts by other streamers. The court also acquitted Hamadi and Cenazandotti of abusing Graven's psychological frailty, based on his prior statements to the police that he consented to the stunts, according to Hamadi's lawyer.
Hamadi received an 18-month suspended prison sentence and was ordered to pay a €5,000 fine. Cenazandotti was given a two-year suspended prison sentence and a €15,000 fine. Both men have also been banned from posting on Kick for six months.
The streaming platform Kick remains under investigation by French authorities. In a statement, Kick stated that it was not a party to the proceedings against Hamadi and Cenazandotti and had no comment on the outcome, specifying that the ruling pertained solely to two individual content creators.
Graven was found deceased in Contes, north of Nice, on August 18, 2025. Reports at the time indicated that a livestream showed the streamer lying lifeless on a mattress covered by a duvet. The video of the incident has since been removed from Kick.
