Two British Nationals Arrested in Barbados for Cocaine Smuggling Plot

Two British nationals, aged 19 and 22, have been arrested in Barbados in connection with a plot to smuggle cocaine valued at over $1 million. The arrests were made on September 29 by the Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit.

Abdul-Rasheed Anjolaoluwa Oduola, 19, from Dagenham, and Miraldie Ndunzi, 22, from east London, were charged with possession, trafficking, intent to supply, and attempting to export cocaine. Police reported seizing suspected cocaine from both individuals.

According to the Barbados Police Service, the amount of cocaine allegedly found with Oduola is estimated to be worth $1.17 million Bajan dollars, which is approximately £440,000 in UK street value. Ndunzi was arrested with 23.6 kilograms of suspected cocaine, which the force stated has an estimated street value of $1,180,000 Barbados currency, equivalent to £444,000 in the UK.

The pair appeared before District B Magistrates' Court in Horse Hill, St Joseph, on October 2. A spokesperson for the UK's Foreign Office confirmed that consular assistance is being provided to the two British nationals and that the authorities are in contact with local officials.
