Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man who fell from a balcony in Salford, England. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to reports of the fall on Liverpool Street shortly after midnight on Saturday. The man died later that night from his injuries.

Initially, one man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. This arrest has now been reclassified to suspicion of murder. A second man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been notified of the incident and is involved because the men arrested had prior contact with the police. The IOPC stated it sent investigators to the police post-incident procedures in Manchester to gather information and is currently in an assessment phase.
