A Turkish Airlines flight en route to Tunis experienced extreme turbulence and made three unsuccessful landing attempts before diverting to an alternate airport on Thursday, according to passenger accounts. The flight, originating from Istanbul, encountered perilous weather conditions as it approached Tunis-Carthage International Airport.

One passenger described the descent as "absolutely terrifying," stating the plane "started to plummet" during the third landing attempt. Passengers were heard screaming as the aircraft violently shook. Despite the frightening experience, the flight eventually landed safely at Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, located approximately 60 miles south of Tunis.

The pilot attributed the diversion to the severe weather, and the flight successfully reached its intended destination without further incident, with passengers crediting the pilots for their safe handling of the situation.
